The Black Mountain

Here is the result of my latest effort. I saw a photo of a winter scene and decided that I need to paint something like it. After researching on the internet, I picked about 10 photos that I saw details on, which I might include in my painting. Funny how none of the features I used look like the photos. I guess that is our artistic freedom.

I worked for quite some time on the wintry woods on the right side of my painting and the slope of the mountain in that area only to completely cover it up when I added the tree as planned in the foreground. Well it's not the first time I painted over some of my work. Enjoy
