When I visited the Enchanted Forest, I always stopped to look at this gate and I liked the view for a painting. I took several pictures , but I hesitated to paint it, because an artist should not paint this way. The focal point is in the middle of the canvas, the walk toward is down the middle, the sides are too even. Finally I decided: So what! I like it and that is what's important for me to spend my time painting it. So here it is, breaking all the rules. Enjoy!
Something bothered me about my painting. So I talked to one of our experts at the Fort Bend Art Center and got some good advise, which I applied to it. It did take away my feeling of "something isn't right". Now I can really say: "Take a look at my latest masterwork!"
